Week 12 Fantasy Football Injury Report: Joe Burrow, Josh Jacobs Will Sit, Will Others Play?

Week 12 Fantasy Football Injury Report: Joe Burrow, Josh Jacobs Will Sit, Will Others Play?

Adam Ronis and Jorge Martin produced Week 12 Fantasy Football Injury Report, featuring injury updates on Joe Burrow, Josh Jacobs and more.

We can’t make the fantasy football season stop because we have injuries. It trudges forward like a train, and all you can hope for is grabbing hold for dear life. Players with relative degrees of not playing this week are all over practically every roster. You won’t find Michael Penix Jr., Marvin Harrison Jr. and Drake London since they’re already out.

FYI, updates will be made leading up to early inactives on Sundary morning. Alright, let’s get into the injuries that are impacting fantasy

Week 12 Fantasy Football Injuries report

Quarterback

CIN_bengals-logo.svg Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)

Burrow is coming off turf toe surgery and practiced in full Thursday for the second second straight day. While it was assumed Burrow would return on Thanksgiving, it’s shaping up to be a possibility Burrow returns on Sunday against the Patriots. The team could also be ramping up Burrow this week since the Bengals won’t have rigorous practices next week. Stay tuned for updates. UPDATE: Burrow is going to sit this week, but it looks like he's close to playing. It looks like the Bengals wanted to get him some regular practice sessions before the truncated practice week leading up to their Thanksgiving game against the Ravens. More on the Bengals attack in the Flacco section.

NYG_giants-logo.svg  Jaxson Dart (New York Giants)

Jaxson Dart was a limited participant in practice on Thursday for the second straight day after missing last week due to a concussion. Dart is still in the concussion protocol, but trending in the right direction and likely to play against the Lions. UPDATE: Dart is going to sit another week to recover fully from the concussion. Jameis Winston will be back under center against the Lions. Winston will have to take his shots against a Lions team that is so explosive at home and with the Giants being fifth with allowing 20.7 fantasy points per game. Warning, the Lions have gotten stingy against the pass of late. No QB has surpassed 228 passing yards in the past four games, with 5 total TD passes allowed in that span.

CIN_bengals-logo.svg Joe Flacco (Cincinnati Bengals)

Flacco was limited in practice Thursday with a shoulder injury. Flacco took reps as the QB2 with Burrow back. If Burrow sits another week, Flacco is a high-end QB2. UPDATE: Flacco's been cleared of any injury, and with Burrow now sitting it's time for the 40-year-old veteran. The Patriots have not allowed a 300-yard passer since Week 2, though they did give up 3 TD passes in two of the past three games. At home and facing one of the best run defenses, the Bengals attack may be on Flacco's arm. Weather will be chilly (45 degrees), but minimal wind and no rain are in the forecast. This could surpass the 50-point over/under.

IND_colts-logo.svg Daniel Jones (Indianapolis Colts)

Jones popped up on the injury report Thursday with a calf injury and was limited in practice. It doesn’t appear to be a concern yet. UPDATE: Indiana Jones practiced fully and should be full steam ahead for Sunday. While this would appear to be potential shootout, the Colts going from their dome into the elements with a 7% chance of rain could bring the scoring down.

PIT_steelers-logo.svg Aaron Rodgers (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Rodgers left last week’s game with a wrist injury and was a limited participant in practice Thursday. Rodgers is a low-end QB2 if he can play against the Bears. UPDATE: Rodgers is OUT, after being a dreaded "game-time decision." The matchup with the Bears is enticing, no matter what Rodgers' ownership status was before with Chicago. DK Metcalf is the pass catcher most impacted by Rodgers sitting in favor of Mason Rudolph. We've seen Rudolph hyper-target George Pickens two years ago, so if that happens again Metcalf will be the main target.

Running Back

GB_packers-logo.svg Josh Jacobs (Green Bay Packers)

Josh Jacobs was a limited participant in practice on Thursday with a knee injury. Jacobs left the game in the second quarter last week against the Giants. Jacobs said the issue is range of motion. Jacobs said the worst-case scenario is missing one game and then returning on Thanksgiving against the Lions. If Jacobs is out, Emanuel Wilson becomes a good play. UPDATE: Even after limited practices, Jacobs is OUT for Week 12. He even said it might make sense to hold him out of this week and get him ready for the Thanksgiving game agianst the Lions. Wilson will go against a Vikings defense allowing 104.4 rushing yards per game to RBs. There's even a reason to like Jordan Love more in this matchup.

KC_chiefs-logo.svg Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs)

Pacheco was limited in practice Thursday with a knee injury. He hasn’t played since Oct. 27. If he plays, he will split touches with Kareem Hunt, who gets most of the goal-line carries. UPDATE: Pacheco was ruled OUT, so Hunt will lead the backfield in a game against the Colts, who have held RBs to 77.9 rush yards. However, stud DT DeForest Buckner is on IR, which is a blow to the run defense for the Colts.

NE_patriots-logo.svg Rhamondre Stevenson (New England Patriots)

Rhamondre Stevenson was limited in practice Thursday for the second straight day. Stevenson has missed two games with a toe injury and TreVeyon Henderson has excelled in his absence. The early rankings love Henderson against the Bengals, and if Stevenson does play both could have productive games in a great matchup. UPDATE: Stevenson appears to be headed for an active designation after a full Friday practice. The Bengals are dead last in fantasy points and rushing yards allowed per game to RBs. They've allowed over 100 total rushing yards to every team since Week 1.

ARI_cardinals-logo.svg Emari Demarcado (Arizona Cardinals)

With Emari Demercado OUT and Trey Benson still not active off IR, it's looking like Bam Knight's backfield primarily for the Cardinals. While he will get most of the touches—Michael Carter could get worked in—it's going to be a tough day at the office with the sixth with 18.7 fantasy points allowed and a -31.0 rushing yards boost to RBs, which is tops in the league.

Wide Receiver

JAC_jaguars-logo.svg Brian Thomas Jr. (Jacksonville Jaguars)

BTJ has been limited two practices to start the week. He was limited every practice and then was ruled inactive. We'll be following this one when we have a definitive designation. UPDATE: Like last week, BTJ was ruled inactive at the end of the week. Ankles can be tricky and linger for quite a while, so this will be worth monitoring until he's back on the field.

NYG_giants-logo.svg Darius Slayton (New York Giants)

Darius Slayton practiced for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 10. He was a limited participant on Thursday. UPDATE: Slayton is going to suit up after shedding in the injury designation. He'll be Jameis' deep threat, though the Lions have not allowed more than 58 receiving yards to WRs since Week 5.

KC_chiefs-logo.svgXavier Worthy (Kansas City Chiefs)

After missing practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, Xavier Worthy was limited on Thursday. Worthy hasn’t been productive most of the season and especially since Rashee Rice returned. Worthy isn’t a recommended start. UPDATE: Worthy is going to play, but he's a boom/bust option. He hasn't surpassed 53 receiving yards in the past six games. The Colts have beefed up the secondary via trade and acitavtion off IR. The Colts got beat up by Drake London for 6-104-1, but if you're playing Worthy it's because you don't have another option because of byes and injuries.

TB_buccaneers-logo.svg Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

We’ll believe it when he’s on the field taking snaps alongside Emeka Egbuka, but Chris Godwin did practice in full on Thursday. If this continues, he could be headed for the first game action since Week 5.  UPDATE: Godwin got cleared after a limited session on Friday. Now the question remains how many snaps he'll see on Sunday night against the Rams. With the Bucs a pass-funnel defense, figure the Rams will start hot with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Baker Mayfield will need to pass to keep up, and the Rams are 10th in the league, allowing 156.6 receiving yards per game. Egbuka will be the primary target, and Godwin will get worked in. If he gets a healthy snap/target share it's because he looked good and the Bucs needed him to keep up at SoFi Stadium.

Tight End

BAL_ravens-logo.svg Isaiah Likely (Baltimore Ravens)

Isaiah Likely was limited in practice Thursday due to a calf injury. Likely hasn’t played a big role in the offense and isn’t a good start. If Likely is out, Mark Andrews could see a few more targets. UPDATE: Likely is playing, but he's clearly in the backseat to Andrews. He's the TE23 in our rankings. He's really only a desperation play in fantasy, as he's at best the third option in the passing game behind Zay Flowers and Andrews. DeAndre Hopkins may be ahead of him, with Rashod Bateman sitting.

CLE_browns-logo.svg David Njoku (Cleveland Browns)

David Njoku didn’t practice for the second straight day with a knee injury. The Friday practice will be key for Njoku. If he sits against the Raiders, Harold Fannin Jr. gets a boost. UPDATE: Njoku is playing after his injury designation was removed. It'll be a tough matchup, because as bad as the Raiders have been, they've only allowed two TEs this season to go over 50 receiving yards in a game—Hunter Henry and Travis Kelce. Njoku is the TE20 and Fannin TE15 in our rankings.
